News Harvest - Embracing uncertainties together!: 17 November 2022

IN THE SPOTLIGHT

UKRAINE WAR: NATO and Poland concluded that a missile that crashed in Poland on Tuesday, killing two people, was probably a stray fired by Ukraine's air defences. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskiy contested this view in a rare public disagreement with his Western allies.

Explosions were heard again this Thursday morning in several parts of Ukraine, including the southern port of Odesa, the capital Kyiv and the central city of Dnipro. More here, with BBC.

US: The Republican Party narrowly regained control of America’s House of Representatives - 218 against 211 - with a very slim margin which represents the worst midterm performance by a party out of power in 20 years. Nevertheless, it could allow them to stall much of President Joe Biden’s agenda. More here, with REUTERS.

Donald Trump’s campaign for president received a handful of endorsements. Many Republicans remained silent.

G20: The 17th Group of 20 (G20) Summit was hosted on Tuesday and Wednesday in Indonesia's resort island of Bali.

The declaration said "most members strongly condemned the war in Ukraine and stressed it is causing immense human suffering and exacerbating existing fragilities in the global economy." More here, with REUTERS.
