UK - UK borrowing costs increase to their highest level in almost 15 years.The Bank of England has raised interest rates by 0.25% to 4.5% as it warned it would not hit its inflation target until 2025. The rise was needed to bring inflation back under control as they took rates to the highest level since 2008.

-Members of the European Parliament in the internal market and civil liberties committees passed their final text of the Artificial Intelligence Act. MEPs adopted all amendment batches put forward by the text’s co-rapporteurs, Italian S&D lawmaker Brando Benifei and Renew lawmaker Dragoș Tudorache of Romania.
-European Parliament rejected new EU-US data flows agreement. The assembly urged the European Commission to oppose a new agreement to reboot data flows with the United States over remaining surveillance concerns.
Ahead of a meeting of EU foreign ministers in Stockholm on Friday where they are due to discuss the EU's approach to China, Josep Borrell said that the European Union shouldn’t prevent China from becoming a world power and should focus instead on managing how Beijing uses its new might.
“If it uses this power in accordance with international law, if it doesn’t put in danger our interests and values, we have to live with China on the world stage”, Borrell said at the European Defence and Security Summit in Brussels.
Internal Market Commissioner, Thierry Breton, promised attendees at a European Defense Summit €1 billion from the European Peace Facility to continue replenishing member countries' stocks after they send arms to Ukraine.
